Kristen Stewart hates fame. She makes it clear in just about every interview she does. But since it's a little too late for her to avoid it, she says she's just hoping that everyone will just take her seriously as an actress and forget all the rumors that follow her around these days.

"I don't want to be a movie star like Angelina Jolie," she told the British magazine Fabulous. "Nothing about being a celebrity is desirable. I'm an actor. It's bizarre to me that everybody's so obsessive.

She does, however, feel a connection to the world of "Twilight." But with the saga's second film, "New Moon," opening on November 20, these days she feels more like Edward Cullen than Bella Swan. "Edward is actually a really good parallel to fame," she explained to the magazine. "As a vampire, he has a sad, desolate life — fame is the same."

"I can't think of any other movie where people really, really invest in the characters and hold them so closely," she added of ardent "Twilight" fans. "I feel bad, but at the same time no one can hate you just because you're kissing the vampire man."

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Pattinson also talked candidly about the pitfalls of fame. In the December issue, the "Twilight" heartthrob notes that it's not easy getting so much attention from the media and his mostly female fans. "I'm trying not to drown," he said. "I guess I'm not the type of guy cut out to do a franchise. I'm not much of a crowd person."

He also denied those rumors that he and Stewart are more than friends. "It doesn't make any difference what you say [to the tabloids]," he explained. "I've literally been across the country [from Kristen], and it's like, 'Oh, they were on secret dates!' It's like, 'Where? I can't get out of my hotel room!' "
